Mandala tattoos use repeating circular symmetry, while geometric tattoos build designs from precise lines, shapes, and dotwork. Polynesian tattooing uses bold, flowing patterns and culturally meaningful motifs arranged around the body. These styles can share a visual rhythm, but their histories, symbolism, and compositions are different.

Yes. We begin with your story, heritage, values, and preferred placement, then create a composition tailored to your body rather than copying another person’s tattoo. We explain each design choice and avoid sacred or culturally specific symbols that would be inappropriate to use without proper context.

The pattern is usually symmetrical, but its placement must also work with your anatomy. We map the stencil to your body's natural lines and check it while you stand and move so the finished tattoo looks balanced rather than distorted.

Dotwork takes longer per square inch because shading is built dot by dot. Polynesian work may use larger areas of solid black and requires careful free-flowing placement. Small pieces often take two to three hours; armbands, shoulder panels, and sleeves can require a half day or several sessions.
